This past July I had the pleasure of participating in Lauren Louise Collective’s first guided styled shoot at Union Market in DC! It was a [typical] hot summer day in the city, but Margo and Alex pranced, danced, spun, skipped, and laughed their way through the afternoon as six photographers took their portraits!
My experience with Lauren was invaluable and I had a blast learning from her! My key takeaways from the afternoon were 1. movement and expression (with gentle posing and prompts) are the key to authentic photos, 2. styling and color palette choice are important, and always come prepared with multiple outfit options, and 3. never be afraid to get silly with your clients! Lauren is hosting other periodic styled shoots throughout the year (like this one!), so make sure to contact her if you’re interested in participating… or modeling!
